Minecraft Masters is a program that offers a safe space for neurodivergent young people to engage in an activity they enjoy while being supported by a facilitator to collaborate with their peers. Through completing both individual and group challenges, participants have the opportunity to practice collaboration, communication, and problem-solving as a team.
The Aim
Minecraft Masters aims to provide a safe space for young neurodivergent people, where they can engage in an activity they enjoy while being supported to develop connections with their peers. Peer collaboration will be facilitated in such a way that it unfolds naturally through the gameplay. Participants will have the opportunity to work together to complete challenges and missions, collaborating, communicating, and solving problems as a team
How does it work?
Tech Together, with the help of a Tech Together Mentee, has built a versatile Minecraft server that supports all devices and versions of Minecraft, including both Java and Bedrock. This means participants can join the fun whether they prefer playing on a tablet, console, or computer. The server is designed to be inclusive, allowing both tablet and computer users to play together seamlessly. Beginners and tablet users (participants must provide) are encouraged to join, and those interested in transitioning to using a computer can receive guidance to develop their fine motor skills and coordination.
